Nice looking city. One of the things I noticed is that even though everything is made of and on dirt it looks very clean. There is no trash in the streets, not piles of junk. Everything looks very well kept. Nice to see some positive press on the area.

Edde -
What a fantastic adventure - Thanks so much for taking us along.
What was the most surprising thing you rediscovered on your return to the States?
Thank you guys for all the supportive posts and emails...it was one of the things I always looked forward to when i arrived near Internet access...
Relative to you other query....
Drive thrus...wow...that along with the box store malls and the specialty stores like "Recliner Land"...still in the adjustment phase at this point.

Wow...one of the most nervous days of my trip has passed...and successfully. I filed my tax returns and my pre-trip estimates were not far off...whew. You see before I left for my trip, I estimated my tax liability and prepaid it; and also got an extension to file my return(now due October 15th).
OK I lied...my federal estimates were off...I completely forgot about the tax credits on Energy Savings Appliances and Energy Efficient Home improvments. As a result, I actually got a chunk of a refund...nice! Many props to the IRS.gov website for being so helpful!
Anyways, I thought I'd share with you now some of the more exciting things going on in my post trip life!
